A while back I had the amazing opportunity to visit the great Saint Louis City Museum!

A little about the architecture of the building…

What an amazing place! The architecture is amazing! There are tons of maze activities for the kids and so many slides!

The building used to be the home for the former Shoe Company. The building boasts 600,000 square foot.

The museum opened in 1997. This super cool idea of the museum was imagined, invented and constructed by Bob Cassilly.

The museum was constructed with stuff from the city. Yes, recycle materials from all over the city of Saint Louis, Missouri. It is a very urban rooted.
It contains old chimneys, salvaged bridges, cranes, and even abandoned planes!

Our little visit…

Hubby and I took a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old which was pretty interesting.
The kids were all over the place until we reached the third floor. I loved exploring but I was a bit overwhelmed with so much action.

One of the pros is that on the 3rd floor they have a smaller area for kids 6 and under (this is where I spent most of my time) there are slides and Legos and painting activities! They also have a train ride for the kids! The kids had a great time playing and exploring. The museum is amazing and this kids area was a lot of fun for my little ones!

The floors below are amazing, but I think my kids would’ve had more fun if they were a bit older since the mazes are huge and parents don’t really fit in all of them!

While my son was in there I felt like he was lost and this was a bit overwhelming to this overprotective mom!

Good thing there is only one entrance in and out! He kept calling for me and since he couldn’t see me and I couldn’t see him we both got a bit stressed out! He did come out at the end of the tunnel and I received him with arms wide open.

If you are ever in Saint Louis, Missouri I highly recommend a trip to the City Museum. Especially if you have kids!  This is an amazing place for kids of all ages!

Trust me even you will have a blast!

I hope you have the chance to visit and have lots of fun!

Until next time
