Must See Antique Shop in Missouri

I lived in Missouri on and off now for 5 years and that state has become our home.
I love the people in Missouri always so friendly, I love the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Funny, I have traveled around the world but Missouri’s sky continues to be one of my favorite. It may be the way the sky paints itself in all hues of orange in the morning or the way the sun appears through the hills of the Ozarks. I love Missouri for more than just the sky.

Another wonderful feature of the State is the wonderful people and the lovely family owned businesses. One of my favorite shops happens to be an antique shop in a very quaint and beautiful place.
A couple of years ago friends of mine opened their Antique Store in Richland Missouri and I would love to tell you a little bit about it.
First let me tell you about the town of Richland. If you are driving down Route 44 in Missouri you are about 20 minutes away from the city center of Richland.
Richland used to be a prominent town along the railroad tracks between Saint Louis and Springfield Missouri.
In 1869 a Surveyor named M. Santee saw a need of towns along the railroad tracks and this is when Richland was built. One of the first stores built was H.E. Warren Store which is still prominent today.

According to the Richland website “By 1890, Richland was a thriving business center with active stores, a band, newspaper, public school, a private academy, churches, lodges, two flouring mills, a sawmill, broom factory, marble works, lumberyard, two hotels and many professional men.”
My friend’s store used to be an older building which looks like it used to be a lodge. Located on 107 S Walnut St in Richland, Missouri Penaroyal Antiques & Collectibles is a place full of treasures for the whole family.

I absolutely love the gardens in the store, as soon as you cross the fence I feel that I went back in time. The garden is absolutely beautiful and welcoming. The house/store is a beautiful victorian style building.
The owners are so sweet Penny and Roy are amazing people and they will make you feel so welcome in their store.

As soon as you enter the house you will see the beautiful staircase leading to the second floor, which in my opinion is my favorite feature of the home. I am pretty sure it is Roy’s too.
