7 Cheap Date Night Ideas

Having kids is fun and a dream come true and is a blessing, however, it is an increase in responsibilities which leads to lack of sleep, which leads to irritation and an overwhelming feeling. All of these things can place a strain in our marital relationships.

Therefore here are a few tips to have a few date nights:

  • Make sure kids are in bed by 7:30pm. Little ones need the sleep and parents can benefit from the quiet time as well. It may take some time to get into a routine but it is totally worth it.
  • Once kids are in bed enjoy “the date” with your spouse.

A big problem with couples is that once they have free time they do not know what to do, their thoughts is to clean or get caught up with social media. Do not lose the opportunity to create a bond with your spouse though. As the children grow and time becomes more abundant many couples learn that through the younger years they have disconnected and now are barely strangers living in the same house. Take time to nourish your relationship with your spouse. Happy parents equals more harmony in the house which will lead to a stronger family and more emotional stable children.

Here are 7 cheap date ideas.

  • Watch a movie on Netflix sharing a blanket on the couch. Make some popcorn and just enjoy each other’s company.
  • Sundaes: Buy the ingredients for sundaes and build each other ice cream sundaes. Add some twists like: you must choose the ingredients with your eyes closed (be creative and have fun).
  • Truth or Dare might be a childish game but for couples it can be real fun (be creative and best of all is FREE)!
  • Puzzles can be found at thrift shops and they  create such a relaxing bond, it can be lots of fun to work together towards a common goal.
  • A massage in bed. Take turns and massage each others back, foot, hands, head. Well you get the hint.
  • Use your artistic talents or lack of talent for a fun game of pictionary. Write down a word pass it to your partner facing down and then start to draw. They have to guess it in a minute. Once time is up they get to turn the card and see what is was that you were trying to portrait.
  • One of my favorites is praying with each other. Just sit and share some prayer concerns and spend time praying with and for each other. Seeing each other from the deepest of our hearts is just an amazing feeling.
