Car Emergency Bag

Hello to all my Octopus Moms out there….
All of you who wish you had an extra arm just to be able to handle something else that life throws at you…
Today, I want to talk to you about a car emergency bag.
When we are pregnant we are urged to pack a hospital bag and leave it in the car ready to go (just in case, right?).
Well, once you have kids you just forget everything and having an emergency bag is valid long after your kids are born too (trust me).
Last week, I was stuck in a traffic jam with a six year old and a two year old and I didn’t have any snacks or water in the car. Let me tell you I couldn’t wait to find a gas station to stop yet, it took me another 30 minutes to find one…
I felt so unprepared. I usually leave the house with a big bag full of “supplies” but that particular day I was running late and that was not on my priority list.

Lesson learned!

If I want to win at motherhood I have to think ahead, I have to be prepared.
And let me tell you, that day I wasn’t winning at anything. Nothing like feeling like a failure for a few long minutes!
If motherhood has taught me anything is that we need to be prepared, and we will never be prepared enough for the lessons we will learn along the day.
With that in mind I realized I needed a plan to get ahead. I got home pulled out my Thirty One Bag and went to work.
This is the list of items in my emergency bag! I hope this little list helps you get ahead too.

I would recommend you checking your emergency bag once a week to make sure dates on food are not expired and also to refill anything else you might have used.
